Dilshad has had three major accidents, countless surgeries and two tumours, one of which turned out to be cancerous. In between, she found time to set up three TV channels, and also changing the face of Indian trekking.
Her current focus – which she thinks will be the legacy she’ll leave for her daughter – is getting more people, especially women, to trek in the Indian Himalayas.
Dilshad is now in a leadership position at one of India's largest adventure travel companies - Mercury Himalayan Explorations Ltd., and designs new programs around unforgettable experiences that changes lives.
These days, she’s busy putting together a 60-day shoot with eight women explorers traversing the entire length of the river Ganga from Gomukh in Uttarakhand to Gangasagar in Kolkata.
